Agenzia immobiliare affidabile. Titolare veramente professionale

After wasting days of waiting for answer on a rental property we really liked, they turned around and said it cannot be rented out anymore due to the owners having changed their minds. Why would they even advertise and show this property is available if they are unsure of it themselves, very "Unprofessional". They have also kept 850€ of ours for their agency fees, which is something that you do not do out of principal. We offered to give them something for their time but this was not good enough, they kept coming up with poor excuses. We are now taking legal action to recover this monies we are owed. Do not deal with agencies that want upfront agency fees when you haven't even moved into a property. There is more to this story, but want to keep this short.

At first, I really appreciated the service and friendliness I received. But when it came to money things went horribly wrong.

They showed us a place we were interested in, we signed the contract and paid all the monies, the contract was to start on the 8th of February 2020, but luckily we were able to look at the place again on the 3rd of February after heavy rain. There was a huge leak in the house and most rooms were wet, the mattresses were wet and full of mold.

They agreed we cancel the contract. They said they would help us find a new place and they did, we liked it, it turned out the place was not even for rent by owners. They wanted to force us in a place owned by one of their friends, we did not like the place, they had nothing else, we offered to pay them some money for their efforts and say thank you but they refused to return our money.

Their argument is that they already issued a tax invoice and they have to pay taxes. I offered to pay money after the first incident, i.e. we could have separated ways before wasting more time. After he mentioned the tax I offered to pay for that, even though one can just cancel a tax invoice.

I will fight this even if it cost me more than the €1,540 I paid, it's about principles with me. Our lawyer will be in touch, I will lodge a formal complaint with the FIAIP, the European Consumer Centre (ecc), I will dispute the tax invoice in writing and lodge a complaint with the Guardia di Finanza.

A real shame, this costs me more than a thousand in expenses, but in the end, these reviews are going to cost them more than tens of thousands, and there was no need as I was perfectly happy to compensate them for the work done even though that is part of their job and there was no need at all for them to be paid, only after the debt is due when the service has been provided. That service is us in a rental property arranged by them, which is not the case.
