This would be a 0 star review. Dr. Citow did a fusion in my neck. It was supposed to be two levels, but he fused three. Then he told me the follow-up would be all covered, and then tried to charge me for imaging. Then, when I had problems with my thoracic, and there was blatant bulging in a significant amount of disks (one in particular), he rudely cut me off in a conversation on the phone to tell me there was nothing wrong. I am still in alot of pain, both neck and thoracic. The rest of the staff was also rsther rude. Just goes to show, no matter the education, rude folks are rude folks. I will never go back there and advise all to seek treatment elsewhere.

Dr. Citow gave me back my life. Sounds extreme, but it's what things had become. I had a microdissection on my lower back. Bulging disk, that went from nothing to life altering in less than 2 months. Dr. Citow looked over my MRI and told me exactly what to expect. I was back to work the next day. Full recovery in a very short time. Long story short, I am 100% back to normal and its been over 6 years now. Anyone and everyone who has any type of back issues, don't wait ! Dr. Citow will evaluate your situation and determine the best course of action. It does not necessarily mean survey, there are many options. If surgery is needed, this is the person you want.

I had been suffering from back problems for 30 years and had seen many Doctors and Chiropractors. At some point the problems became too much to bare and a more permanent solution was needed. I started researching Doctors to treat my back problems and found five independent recommendations from friends and medical professionals who highly recommended Dr Citow. Dr. Citow performed a discectomy and my pain was gone. I thank God everyday for giving him the skills to fix my back and I've recommended him to many of my friend and relatives.

Where do I start? This "doctor" thinks very highly of himself and has a horrible bedside manner. It's very sad that people like him decide to go into this field. No compassion or truly wanting to help people. Only cares about how much he gets paid or how much the insurance companies shell out. He treats Medicaid patients like they aren't worth his precious time..
His lack of empathy and compassion disgusts me. Will convince you to have surgery, but doesn't even have the decency to check on you the next day. I don't care how good of a surgeon you are, you show respect to people no matter how much money they do or don't have. I could go on... believe me.. awful.

I could not even walk 1/2 mile. in 11/07 Dr. C. did a L4 L5 fusion I have been in almost no pain. 9 months later I was backpacking in the Sierras. The next year mountain biking in Colorado. In 2014 we rode our bikes across the country. Dr Citow changed my life! I never knew what life would be like with out pain. Thanks!

I was very well taken care of at The American Center for Spine and Neurosurgery. Dr. Citow made me feel very relaxed about my situation. His staff treated me like family. Dr. Citow has a very strong work ethic, is very professional, and incredibly knowledgable. I found his bedside manner to be very kind and compassionate. I highly recommend Dr. Citow if you are having back issues, or are in need of spinal surgery. Dr. Citow did wonders for me.

Is there a way I can give him -5 stars. Took my 80 year old father in to get his back checked out. He was having pain in his lower extremities. Comes in all flashy sits down chats for a few minutes and says...ah no problem.....we will do the surgery. Surgery to relieve the pain. Well guess what no relief. If you have done this a million times don't put an 80 year man through it. Tell him the truth and the man will live through the pain during his golden years. He made it worse. Worst bed side manner ever. Drives his flashy car around and does 3 minutes consults. Stay away. Far away.

Busy neurosurgical practice. He often considers non-operative management first, including injections and weight loss. I respect that. Weight is a major factor in most skeletal ailments. He did an outstanding job on my cervical neck fusion. I was home in a few hours feeling great. No c-collar. Symptoms gone. I was driving and swimming soon after the operation without any concerns. Bottom line....I'm pleased with my experience, results and outcome. Thank you.
